North Shropshire Homecare is based in Whitchurch. Our office at The Coach House, 15/17 Green End sits in the heart of the town — a five-minute walk from the high street, around the corner from the pharmacy, close to the GP surgery and the community hospital. We are not a provider with a distant regional office who covers Whitchurch as part of a larger patch. This town is our home.

We have been providing home care across Whitchurch and the surrounding area since 2011. Over fourteen years we have supported hundreds of individuals and families in SY13 — in the terraced streets off the high street, in the bungalows on the newer estates, in the farmhouses on the edge of town, and in the rural properties down the lanes that lead out toward Prees and Tilstock.

About our Home of Whitchurch

Whitchurch is the oldest continuously inhabited town in Shropshire.

With a population of just over 10,000, Whitchurch is the largest town in our operating area and the commercial and social hub for the wider North Shropshire community. The Market has been a fixture of town life for generations. The high street retains its independent character. The community hospital on Claypit Street — and the new Swimming and Fitness Centre that opened in March 2025 — serve residents from miles around.

It is also a town with a significant older population. Many of the people we support have lived in Whitchurch for fifty years or more. They know the town's history, its families, its rhythms. Our carers know them too — because they live here.

One staff member told us they had regular clients and good routines. They said, “Time is pretty regular and
consistency means you can get to know people really well. We spoke with office staff who also
demonstrated a good knowledge of people’s care and support needs. This meant that they could offer
effective information and support when staff rang the office for advice.

Why Whitchurch Families Choose NSHC

Every carer on our team lives within the area we serve. For Whitchurch clients, this means the person arriving at your door is your neighbour — someone who shops at the same Market, who knows the same streets, and whose professional reputation is staked on looking after the people around them well.

We are not part of a national group or a private equity-owned chain. We are independently owned, family-run, and answerable only to the families we serve. Our earnings stay in North Shropshire.
