When Care Can't Wait
Some care needs arrive with warning. A diagnosis, a gradual decline, a family conversation that's been building for months. There's time to plan, to visit, to think it through properly.
And some don't.
A hospital ward calling to say your mum can come home tomorrow, if there's someone to look after her. A fall that's changed everything overnight. A sudden decline that's turned "we're managing fine" into "we need help now".
Rapid Response Care (or fast start care) exists for exactly this. It is not a different, cut-down version of what we do. It is the same assessment, the same care planning, the same locally-employed carers, the same standard we hold every client to — moved to the front of the queue with our RR team and compressed into the time you actually have.
It does not cost more. There is no premium for urgency. We think charging extra for the moments when families are already under the most pressure would be a strange way to run a care company.
What Changes When You Ask for Rapid Response
-
A Rapid Response enquiry goes straight to the top of our assessment schedule. We do not slot you into the next available appointment in the ordinary run of things — we clear space for you. -
We still visit, we still build a proper care plan, we still take the time to understand who your relative is, not just what they need. What compresses is the waiting between steps, not the quality of any individual step.
-
If this is a hospital discharge, we will speak to the ward team, the discharge coordinator, or the district nursing service directly, so that the handover of clinical information happens between professionals rather than being relayed second-hand.
-
Exactly how fast depends on the specifics — the complexity of the need, and our carer availability at that moment — but Rapid Response enquiries are handled with same-day contact and, wherever it is genuinely possible, a same-day or next-day start.
Who This Is For
-
If a ward has said "tomorrow" or "the day after," and the care package isn't yet arranged, this is exactly the gap Rapid Response exists to close.
-
A fall, a stroke, a sudden decline that has moved someone from independent to needing support faster than anyone expected.
-
Sometimes the crisis isn't a medical event — it's the moment a spouse or adult child realises they cannot keep going without help, today.
-
If a care package has fallen through unexpectedly — a provider closing, a package ending abruptly — and there is no time to go through a lengthy search process. This extends to a sudden very poor CQC rating being published.
If you are not sure whether your situation counts as urgent enough — call anyway. We would rather tell you it can wait than have you sit with worry because you weren't sure if you were "allowed" to ask.
